Teaching Philosophy

I believe that all children can learn. They might not learn in the same way, or at the same speed, but they can learn. As an educator, my job is to equip them with the tools to succeed.

I believe that as an educator, I need to meet my students where they are. Make them feel confident with the information and material they know, and then stretch that information and knowledge so that they may continue to grow.

I believe in life-long learning. As methods, ideas, and strategies continue to grow, develop, and change-my knowledge of them should as well. I need to be prepared to use the best practices in education to help my students in all the ways that I can.

I believe that we can use technology to aide in the learning process. The students in today’s generation are exposed to a plethora of technology every day. As educators, we need to keep that concept in mind, and find useful ways to incorporate it into our classrooms.

I believe that my classroom needs to be an area of comfort and safety. Students who feel safe in the classroom will feel more capable in the classroom. They will be more able to communicate their thoughts and ideas in this safe area.
